Herb Onion Bread

This herbed onion bread was very nice served straight out of the bread machine, slathered in butter.  Pairs well with stews, soups, etc. but would be AWESOME sliced and used for something like roast beef sandwiches.

 

Ingredients

1 c. plus 1 tbl. water

2 tbl. whole milk

2 tbl. sugar

1.5 tsp. active dry yeast

2 tbl. softened butter

3 c. bread flour

1 tsp. salt

1 small onion, carmelized and cooled

Herbs, to taste (such as rosemary, thyme, sage, etc.)

3 tsp. onion powder

2 tsp. garlic powder

 

Directions:

Add all ingredients to bread machine and set to white or French bread.  Bake according to manufacturer’s instructions.
