Goat Hill Farm

Goat Hill Farm, 2011 – 2012, Western Arkansas

We call our farm… Goat Hill Farm.  Why?  Because the bulk of us are smarmy Northeasterners who thought it would be funny.  Once upon a time, there was no place for a house in our pasture, until a bulldozer and a dump truck and a lot of men came by to make a house pad.  They left behind a smooth bed of shale and a mound of dirt that quickly attracted the attention of our resident mountain climbers goats.  The picture above features Pearl, head of the herd, lording a victory of Queen of the Mountain over her daughter, Onyx.
